The Many Fates of the Pineapple WindowInspired by the preliminary renderings of Alexander Dodge's scenic design for Atlanta Opera's production of Cabaret (asst: Emma Antenen) directed by Tomer Zvulun, I set out a plan to show not only how a brick could be thrown through the window, but what other things could befall it as part of my initial pitch for the projection design. I did not end up working on that production, but the plan for the reel stuck and this is a demonstration of a number of dynamic simulations within Houdini rendered with Redshift, showing a bit of what dcp creative, llc can do as a VFX design studio.
The Johnny MurdersInspired by Rohan Dalvi's Houdini training series on vellum grains simulations called the Flippy Murders (after a piece of test geometry in Houdini) and a photogrammetry 3d head I had created from singer Nathan Berg's head in Mattie Ulrich's costume designer for Tomer Zvulun's production of Salome at The Atlanta Opera
Torus O'PyroInspired by my time on a Johnny Cash musical which featured a certain song quite prominently, I whipped up a thing in Houdini to celebrate (and also to test out DaVinci Resolve)
